These systems may review account activity, usage patterns, communications metadata, transaction-related information, and other Platform signals. Automated processes are intended to supplement administrative review and improve operational efficiency. BuildMatcher does not rely solely upon automated processes where applicable law requires additional review or user protections.
6.01 BuildMatcher maintains commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, misuse, destruction, or loss. Security measures may include access controls, authentication procedures, encryption technologies, monitoring systems, vendor management practices, employee restrictions, and incident response procedures. BuildMatcher limits access to personal information to authorized individuals and service providers with a legitimate business need to access such information. Despite these safeguards, Users acknowledge that no electronic transmission, database, or internet-based service can guarantee absolute security.
6.02 BuildMatcher regularly evaluates its security practices and may modify or enhance security procedures as technology, business operations, and legal requirements evolve. Users are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of account credentials, protecting login information, and promptly reporting suspected unauthorized account access. BuildMatcher encourages Users to implement reasonable security practices when accessing the Platform, including using strong passwords and protecting personal devices. BuildMatcher shall not be responsible for security failures caused by User negligence, unauthorized access resulting from User conduct, or circumstances beyond BuildMatcher’s reasonable control.
6.03 In the event BuildMatcher becomes aware of a security incident involving unauthorized access to personal information, BuildMatcher may evaluate the scope, nature, and potential impact of the incident and implement reasonable response procedures. Such procedures may include investigation, containment, remediation, notification obligations, cooperation with service providers, and compliance with applicable legal requirements. BuildMatcher may notify affected Users when required by applicable law or when BuildMatcher determines notification is appropriate under the circumstances. The timing, method, and content of any notification shall be determined consistent with applicable legal obligations and operational considerations.
6.04 Users acknowledge that BuildMatcher may rely upon third-party technology providers, hosting providers, verification providers, communication providers, and other service partners to operate portions of the Platform. BuildMatcher evaluates such providers through commercially reasonable vendor management practices designed to support appropriate security and confidentiality protections. However, BuildMatcher cannot guarantee the independent actions, security practices, or systems of third parties outside BuildMatcher’s direct control. Users acknowledge the inherent risks associated with technology ecosystems involving multiple service providers.
7.01 BuildMatcher may collect verification materials from contractors and other Users where necessary to support marketplace integrity, identity verification, credential review, fraud prevention, or administrative approval procedures. Verification materials may include approved government identification documents, licenses, certifications, insurance documentation, business records, credential information, or other files reasonably necessary to evaluate Platform eligibility. BuildMatcher collects such materials only for legitimate verification-related purposes and does not intend to retain unnecessary sensitive documentation. Users submitting verification materials authorize BuildMatcher to process such information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
7.02 Verification procedures may involve internal administrative review or approved third-party verification providers that assist BuildMatcher in confirming submitted information. BuildMatcher may evaluate verification information against available records, credential sources, licensing databases, or other authorized information sources. Verification outcomes may be recorded to maintain marketplace integrity and demonstrate completion of review procedures. Verification does not constitute a guarantee, endorsement, certification, or warranty of a User’s qualifications or future conduct.
7.03 BuildMatcher shall delete approved government identification documents and other approved uploaded verification files after completion of the applicable verification process, except where continued retention is required by law or reasonably necessary for legitimate business purposes. BuildMatcher’s intent is to minimize storage of sensitive verification documentation while maintaining sufficient records to demonstrate that appropriate review procedures were completed. Sensitive verification files shall not be retained indefinitely solely for convenience. BuildMatcher may establish internal retention schedules consistent with operational, legal, and security requirements.
7.04 Following deletion of verification documents, BuildMatcher may retain limited verification records necessary for administrative, compliance, security, and marketplace purposes. Such records may include verification outcome, reviewer information, credential reference, source checked, applicable expiration date, date of review, and related administrative information. These retained records are designed to document the existence and result of the verification process without maintaining unnecessary copies of sensitive documents. Retained verification records shall be handled in accordance with applicable security practices and this Privacy Policy.
8.01 BuildMatcher retains personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to accomplish the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including providing Platform services, maintaining account records, resolving disputes, enforcing agreements, preventing fraud, maintaining security, complying with legal obligations, and supporting legitimate business operations. Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information, the purpose for collection, legal requirements, and operational needs. BuildMatcher periodically reviews retained information and may delete or anonymize information that is no longer reasonably necessary. Certain information may be retained longer where required or permitted by applicable law.
8.02 BuildMatcher may retain certain records after account closure or deletion requests where reasonably necessary for legal compliance, fraud prevention, security, dispute resolution, financial recordkeeping, enforcement of agreements, or protection of rights. Such retained information shall remain subject to applicable privacy protections and access restrictions. Account deletion does not necessarily require immediate removal of all information where lawful retention obligations apply. BuildMatcher shall process deletion requests consistent with applicable legal requirements.
8.03 Depending on applicable law, Users may have certain rights regarding personal information, including rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, or information regarding data practices. Users may submit privacy-related requests through the communication methods designated by BuildMatcher. BuildMatcher may require reasonable verification of identity before processing certain requests to protect against unauthorized disclosures or fraudulent requests. BuildMatcher shall evaluate and respond to privacy requests consistent with applicable legal obligations.
8.04 Certain privacy rights may vary depending upon User location, legal status, applicable exemptions, and the nature of the information requested. BuildMatcher does not discriminate against Users for exercising legally available privacy rights. The applicability of specific privacy rights or obligations may depend upon User location, business relationship, transaction type, and statutory requirements. Nothing in this Privacy Policy limits rights that Users may have under applicable law.
9.02 BuildMatcher may update its privacy practices as privacy laws, regulatory guidance, technology standards, and marketplace operations develop.
